About

Shannon Burton was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She moved to St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands when she was 16 and completed high school there before earning a BA in English and Secondary Education from the University of the Virgin Islands.

In 2007, while a junior in college, Shannon stumbled across the concepts of nonmonogamy and polyamory. She anonymously joined online communities dedicated to the topics, connecting with ethical sluts, polyamorists, and nonmonogamists all over the world.

In November of 2011, National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) took over much of Shannon’s free time, during which she pecked out 54,000 words towards the rough draft of a novel tentatively titled “Love Times Infinity.” The novel needs to be rewritten and edited, and part of the reason this blog exists is to fan the flames of motivation to get that done.

Today, Shannon is a teacher and camp counselor, splitting her time between St. Thomas and the US mainland. She identifies as bisexual and polyamorous, though firmly believes that these labels only minimally help you to understand her and her thoughts on love and sexuality.

Enjoy the blog; Shannon greatly enjoys writing it.

  1. Shannon, it is good to be amongst fellow “alternatives” such as yourself. Thank you for your recent visit to my web blog. PLEASE finish rewriting your novel — our lifestyles are too often prejudged and grossly misunderstood, even demonized. I’m sure you’re aware of this already. All the best to you! πŸ™‚
